Job shadow is an important part of your English grade, and a great opportunity to explore a possible career choice. Make the most of the opportunity and choose carefully. Documents to help you with the process are available below. Come see me if you have questions or email me!
Timetable for Job Shadow
April through September – Students choose a person to shadow from the AHS database or a person who is not in the database (preferred). All forms and directions are on the School Fusion site. Students will earn a grade in English for successfully contacting their job shadow person using the official internet process and ensuring the contact person has successfully returned completed application via the internet.
September 22 - Job shadow applications will be returned to students so that they may obtain a parent signature.
October 1 or 2 - Students’ completed job shadow applications are due to their English teacher (depending on when students have English class) for a grade in the major category. Students will receive full credit if the completed form is turned into their English teacher by this date. Students will earn ½ credit if the form is received the next day. After that date, a zero will be given. However, students still need to turn in the completed form in order to participate in the junior job shadow program, which is a requirement for English III.
February 9-10 - Job shadow days (students will shadow one of these two days). No other days will be excused from school.
February 12, 15 – These are alternative job shadow dates if the original dates were missed due to rescheduling, weather, etc. These are the dates of our Winter Break school holiday.
